Pregnancy loss has been the focus of her research and writing. The author of Miscarriage: Women's Experiences and Needs for Pandora Press (1990), she was also a member of the working party drawing up and revising the SANDS Guidelines on the management of stillbirth, miscarriage and termination of pregnancy and is an adviser to SANDS and the Miscarriage Association.
