Joseph Macaluso is a Certified Cost Professional with over twenty five years of experience estimating multimillion dollar projects for several New York City and New York State agencies. He has also negotiated construction change orders, and managed a contractor qualification unit. He has contributed chapters to the Wiley books, Green Building: Project Planning & Cost Estimating, Building & Renovating Schools, and was a contributing editor for the RS Means Estimating Handbook. Other activities included chairing the Government & Public Works Group of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE) and the New York Inter-agency Engineering Council. In 2008 he was awarded the Technical Excellence Award by the AACE. Joe has also enjoyed teaching construction cost estimating at Long Island University, and the City University of New York.
