Author Information

"Frances Turnbull is an early childhood music specialist and self-taught guitarist. Playing contemporary and community music from the age of 12, she specialises in teaching acoustic and electric guitar, which she has taught privately since 2013. Trained in the music education techniques of Kodály (specialist singing), Dalcroze (specialist movement) and Orff (specialist percussion instruments), she has her bachelor degree in psychology (Open University) and her master's degree in education (University of Cambridge), and these feature in her recent book, Learning with Music: Games and Activities for the Early Years (Routledge 2017). Outside of guitar lessons, she delivers early years music to baby groups and nurseries, runs afterschool primary music clubs, contributes to the development of Early Years Music in the Music Education Council, runs a local community choir and delivers the Sound Sense initiative ""A choir in every care home"" in residential homes."
