Author Information

Kaitlyn Wells is an award-winning journalist whose work has been featured in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and Wirecutter, among others. Her first children's book, A Family Looks Like Love, received the Outstanding Book Award from the National Association of Black Journalists. She lives in New York City with her wonderful husband, the sweetest toddler, rambunctious dog, and demanding cat. Mariyah Rahman is a Trinidadian illustrator who has called many places home. Most of her days are spent drawing stories by an open window, with her three cats curled up near to her. When she is not drawing, she can be found swimming, picnicking, sewing summer dresses or baking one too many cakes.
