Under the Broccoli Canopy is Barbara Peterson's fourth book since she began her writing career in 2024. Before becoming an author, she concentrated on writing short stories, rhymes, and journals strictly for family and friends. She hopes to write more works of fiction before finally retiring. Before writing Under the Broccoli Canopy, she wrote The Button Boy trilogy, which consists of The Button Boy (2024), Johannes and Berta (2025), and Full Circle: The Button Boy's Journey (2025), all in the genre of literary fiction. Barbara is originally from Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. After graduating from high school, she moved to Wausau, Wisconsin, and graduated from Wausau's technical college. She worked many years as an assistant administrator for a family office, in healthcare customer service, and as the owner of her own cross stitch design company. Her love for thrifting, antiques, and cross stitch thrust her into the world of online selling, which is one of her favorite pastimes today. When not writing, you will find her reading, doing needlework, daydreaming, and catching up on sleep. She is married, has two grown sons, and one grandson. Their cat, Mosey, can be a thorn in her side, but she still loves her mischievous ways.
