Madre Teresa de Calcuta nació en Skopje (actual Macedonia) en 1910 y se unió a las Hermanas de Loreto en Dublín en 1928. Dejó la orden de Loreto en 1948 para comenzar las Misioneras de la Caridad en Calcuta. Su servicio a los más pobres entre los pobres se convirtió en el trabajo de su vida. Fue galardonada con el Premio Nobel de la Paz en 1979. Murió en 1997, fue beatificada en 2003 y canonizada en el 2016.
