Maria Höck was born in 1991 in Zell am See, Austria. After training as a bookseller, she moved to Munich to study, where she still lives and works today. When she is not writing picture books, translating, editing or reading to her daughter, she enjoys spending time in nature, with her family and practising yoga. - Aleksandra Szmidt grew up in a town in southern Poland and currently lives in New Zealand. In Poland, she worked as a graphic designer. After moving, she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a freelance illustrator. From her home studio, Aleksandra creates unique works of art for clients all over the world. Her love of drawing plants and animals dates back to her studies in landscape architecture. However, she prefers to design magical things that are often far removed from reality. She loves both traditional and digital painting, and also enjoys mixing the two. This brings her immense joy and an emotional connection to her artwork.
