The first two books, Gravity of Sol-3 and Tyrants of Gravity are available on most on-line bookstores. JH holds degrees in engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and Southern Methodist University, has several decades of experience in computer architecture and design, and has managed international engineering teams in North America, Asia, and Europe. Early in his career, he architected and designed military electronics systems, such as IR image target tracking systems for the F-18, the F-117 stealth fighter, and the first prototype seeker for the Javelin anti-tank missile. ​After raising a family in Austin and Dallas, Gruger left behind a career in computer engineering to devote himself to writing science fiction and traveling with his wife and family between Dallas and Santa Fe, accompanied by two telepathic Italian Greyhound therapists.
