OverviewWhen my mother/best friend was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, we thought our lives were over. My mother always insisted that she would NEVER endure the torture her Grandmother, who had been diagnosed back in the 1970's, had experienced. Through gentle persuasion, we convinced her that treatment had changed drastically since then and she decided to fight. Fight it she did and was cancer free . . . until she was diagnosed with a second primary cancer - pancreatic which had already metastasized to her liver. According to the doctors, this was very rare. They gave her three to five months to survive and called upon Hospice. She fought hard and, in fact, beat the odds given to her. She was a real champ who did not want to leave her daughter behind. Table of ContentsReviews5.0 out of 5 stars Thoughtful and honest By Alessio Perrone The authors share both sides of a cancer diagnosis -that of patient and caregiver -with a hard truth that is inspiring. The emotions shared are definitely raw, but also understandable. I would recommend this book to survivors and those going through anticipatory grief. I hope writing this book was a cathartic experience for the authors. 5.0 out of 5 stars A compassionate love story of a mother and daughter and the will to survive. By Sierra Excellent story of a mother/daughter's close bond and their hopeful emotions expressed by each of them individually dealing with cancer. If you know anyone battling cancer or are curious how a family might handle the medical challenges, this book certainly will bring tears to your eyes. 5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! By Jeanne Oberg This is such a touching story. The way it was written keeps you interested. It is from different perspectives, not just one. I will gladly purchase another book by Beth Pauvlinch 5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME By Jodi I decided to read this book because I knew Carol, Beth and Janice. I grew up in the same neighborhood as their entire family. The whole family was always friendly, funny and as I remember... a close and loving family. I knew Carol had passed away after a long hard battle with cancer but what I didn't know was all the love, laughs and tears that came along with it. I am truly happy that the three of them had that opportunity to make memories and become closer than ever... even through a sad situation ... God has his way of making it a blessing. I absolutely enjoyed the opportunity to read this and see it all through your eyes. I had moments of laughter and moments of tears right along with you all. Beth, you were a wonderful daughter and Janice, you were a wonderful sister. You both loved her and made her last years as special as possible. She loved you more than life itself and she will forever be watching over you with love and pride in her heart!! Thanks for allowing me to share in your memories both good and bad. 5.0 out of 5 stars Thoughtful and honest By Alessio Perrone The authors share both sides of a cancer diagnosis -that of patient and caregiver -with a hard truth that is inspiring.
