Mahrouyeh Maghzi was born in Iran. In 1981, she was forced to leave the country of her birth to escape persecution because of her faith. She moved to Canada, where she's made her home for past thirty-five years. Here she began to write in English. Magic Potion was her first book. She believes that while writing this book, she developed the state of mind of a gardener, and the heart intelligence of a mother and a grandmother. Her love for her grandchildren and the new generation of children ignites her passion to keep writing.
