Overview

It's 1942, in Nazi Occupied Suwalki, Poland, 12-year-old Basia Gwiazdowska, is posted as the lookout against the Gestapo and SS while her dad Alek listens to an illegal radio. Alek with the Polish Home Army had smuggled twenty of their Jewish neighbors into nearby Lithuania, saving their lives. This act of mercy was a capital crime. The Gestapo and SS overpower Basia. and arrest her father, charging him with treason against the Third Reich. Basia vows revenge. Basia harnessed the celestial powers of the Black Madonna, Baby Jesus, twenty Jewish angels, a golem named Tortuga, and King and Queen Crow. Basia's army is pitted against the might of Nazi Germany.
