Author Information

Sherri Maret is a former English teacher/library media specialist. Her book The Cloud Artist: A Choctaw Tale, published by The RoadRunner Press, was a finalist for First Nation Communities Read Award, Oklahoma Book Award, and Writers' League of Texas Book Award. She is also the author of Lela and the Butterflies (Muddy Boots, 2020), Twelve Days of Winter (Muddy Boots, 2022), and Twelve Days of Summer (Muddy Boots, 2024). She lives in Walla Walla, Washington. Educational activities for all of her books are found at SherriMaret.com. Thomas Hilley is an illustrator living in Oklahoma. He earned a BFA in Graphic Design with an Illustration emphasis from Oklahoma State University. He has illustrated several children’s books as well as instructional and promotional materials. Thomas crafted a style that uses scratchboard and draws inspiration from old woodcut prints. He has recently shifted to working digitally in a style that captures the same spirit of his traditional work while also opening up many new possibilities.
