Overview

Twelve Days Of Lion is a cookbook specifically aimed at raising awareness of the invasive species of fish posing a threat to our seafood bounty and our coral reefs. This is the Lionfish. As fierce as he appears, this fish is as tasty as can be. Take the first step in helping to reduce this predator by eating your way toward a better environment bit by bit and bite by bite. Note: even if you think you cannot get Lionfish in your area, ask about it! It may be able to be ordered for you. No Lionfish at all? Make any of these recipes using any variety of meaty, white fish. Then tell all your friends about the Lionfish. Every little bit helps!

Author Information

Victoria Kikis was born in New York City and lived most of her life in the Throgg's Neck section of the Bronx. She attended New York City public schools, studying fashion design at The High School of Fashion Industries in Manhattan. She also earned a degree in computer technology from NYU's School of Continuing Education. Victoria retired from a successful career with a professional golf course management firm and relocated with her husband to Palm Harbor, Florida to spend time with her daughter, son-in-law and two grandsons. While Victoria has had no formal culinary training, she has joyfully cooked for family and friends her whole life. Cooking and family dining played an integral part in making her the person she is today. Cooking is a natural means of expression for her. Most days you will find Victoria at the gym, or on her beloved Gulf of Mexico paddle boarding or racing Hawaiian Outrigger Canoes with her club. Of course she always makes time for hosting family holiday dinners and lots and lots of parties.
