Tuscaloosa Grief Factory

Overview

Tuscaloosa Grief Factory is a beautifully crafted exploration of loss, motherhood, and personal reinvention via this hybrid poem-memoir. A.M. O'Malley navigates the death of her mother, the birth of her child, and a move to a small Alabama town where she is a stranger in every sense. With a narrative that braids the emotional and physical landscapes of her life-steeped in haunting memories, thoughts, and dreams, amidst a setting of old trees, relentless heat, loose dogs, nervous breakdowns, and fragile moments of clarity-O'Malley delivers a story of grief and resilience. Darkly humorous, at times raw and daring, this work offers an unexpected journey through both personal turmoil and the strange, everyday beauty of life.
