The beach is strewn with human bones, and the few boats left there seem to have been grabbed and tossed in on land..."" When the game begins, they have at last found a place of relative safety to create a settlement for the future. The players in this game take on the roles of the settlement's elected council members, representing the people and the direction they decide on for their future society. Turning tide is a narrative roleplaying board game that requires no game master to reveal the story to the players. It is a board game designed for playing around a table, but it is versatile and was successfully play-tested in a real-time digital format during the Covid-19 pandemic. Turning tide uses regular playing cards to determine random events and one or two ten-sided dice for percentile rolls. During each player's turn their story moment is influenced by what has happened so far, the random event cards, their choice of optional actions and the resource management situation of the settlement. How will your people survive and prosper at the turning of the tides, in the unfriendly environment following the collapse of the world as we knew it?""
