Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationA graduate of London and Brunel universities, MYLES LAUCHLAN SANDERSON taught Design Technology in England and South Australia (Commonwealth Exchange Teachers Programme). Myles spent his childhood in Turkey, Sudan, Egypt, Cyprus, Communist Bulgaria, France, Germany and Holland, where his father was posted in military, intelligence and diplomatic roles (as described in Myles’ book _Secret Service in the Cold War_). Myles has been researching tunnelling history full-time since 2006\. The Durand Archaeological Group kindly involved Myles in their search for access to his grandfather’s Hythe Tunnel under Hill 70 and in their investigations through the Hulluch and Copse Tunnels, where Myles helped clear chalk galleries. Fluent in French, Myles has been interviewed about the Australians in ‘La Grande Guerre’ on Paris radio, as well as presenting a ‘France 2’ TV news report on an Australian relative killed in action in 1917\. Myles gave a short talk in the Arras Wellington caves on ‘The N.Z. Tunnelling Company’ to the New Zealand Ambassador, the Military Attaché and service personnel. Myles has written history articles for National Trust Australia and _The Times of Malta_. In October 2022 the W.F.A. published his article ‘Three Australians and an Englishman’, about his Australian A.I.F. relatives’ military service at Gallipoli and in France, in its magazine, _Stand To_.
