Xiaoying Shang studied traditional medicine-science in Xian. After finishing she worked first as a ward physician and later as a senior physician in a hospital in Xian, China. From 1989 - 1991 she worked as a guest doctor in the neurological station of the municipal hospital in Dortmund, Germany. From 1991 - 1999 she worked in different surgeries for TCM and passed an examination as non-medical practitioner. Chinese degrees have only a limited appreciation in Germany Since 1999 she successfully managed her own surgery for TCM in Krefeld, Germany.
