Overview

The original text (Tuhfatil Atfaal) was written by Sheikh Sulaymaan ibn Husayn ibn Muhammad ibn Shalabee Al-Jamzoori (may Allah have Mercy upon him) in the hijri year 1198. To this day this is one of the most sought after and taught texts to learn Tajweed. This is a simple translation and explanation by Abu Abdillah Abdulhakeem Keown. Abdulhakeem Keown was granted permission (ijaazaat) to teach this text, and issue approval (ijaazah) in this text for those that memorize and learn it. He was granted written ijaazah leading g directly to the author of the text Al-Jamzoori himself in it's highest chain from Sheikh Waleed Idrees Al-Mineesee, he was granted written ijaazah leading to the world famous Al-Jazariy Sagheer in a broken chain from Sheikh Mustafa Bin Zahran Bin Juda Bin Maood in Egypt. Once this text can be learned, memorized and applied you should have a firm foundation in the basic rules of Tajweed .
