Robert Wain Woodward retired from architecture at 82 when he realised he had become a dinosaur in a changing world and so, instead, began assembling his lifetime s collection of writings. Having travelled to over 50 countries, his fascination with people, their cultures, and religions grew enormously. But he cannot abide superstition, humbug and cant which blind people s thinking. He is aware that being forthright in his writings may not be liked by some people and apologises for any offence unintentionally caused. His passion for walking, hill-climbing, and especially mountains has become seriously sabotaged by old age, which he finds cruelly irksome.
