Table of ContentsReviewsAs I was a teenager in the 1960s, I really looked forward to a totally fun-filled trip down memory lane, a real blast from the past, in reading this book. I was not disappointed! The reader is able to meander through what was big news in the 1960s and see what breakthroughs took place in science, medicine, and technology, as well as who and what were hot in sports and popular culture. The book also lists inventions of the 1960s and covers some pertinent and random facts of interest. Let's not forget The Beatles, who were so germane to the pop culture of the era! There is even a section with some black and white photographs of 1960s celebrities to see if the reader can guess who they are. Should one get stumped, no worries, as there is an answer key. The book also breaks down some fast, fun facts for the 1960s, year by year, including the world population at the time, what was newsworthy and sparked headlines, as well as celebrity births and deaths, Academy Award winners, Tony Award winners, and a list of best selling fiction which, as a book lover and avid reader, I particularly enjoyed. This is a most enjoyable book of interesting information for those who are insatiably curious about the 1960s or were born in or lived through that wild and quirky time period and would like to take a stroll down that proverbial memory lane. This book makes a nice gift for that special someone in one's life who fits that bill. If one is looking for a fun stocking stuffer for Christmas, this just might be the ticket. There is also Mother's Day and Father's Day to consider. Of course, birthdays come all year long. This is a gift that keeps on giving.
