Being part of the Lady Tigers is about more than playing fastpitch softball. It's about being part of a team. From the very first tryout, Margie, Trish, Sally and Nikki, with the help of their coaches, found they were a force to be reckoned with. After all, in a team you play together, not solo. It also demonstrates how conflicted tweens are; mature and childlike while struggling to find their way to adulthood. This is not a heavy book, but it addresses many social issues in interesting ways. For example, the kindness of Trish and her friends to a new girl that someone else is not being nice to is understated but very important. I am looking forward to the next Lady Tigers book, and highly recommend it to tweens. Dawn Brotherton is an award-winning author and featured speaker at writing and publishing seminars. When it comes to exceptional writing, Dawn draws on her experience as a retired colonel in the US Air Force as well as a softball coach. Her books include the Jackie Austin Mysteries and the Global Ebook Bronze Award Winner, Worth the Wait. She is a contributing author to the non-fiction A-10s over Kosovo, sharing stories from her deployment.
