Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationMichael O'Ferrall has worked in the field of Aboriginal art since 1977, when he began working with the artists of the Yirrkala region of North East Arnhem Land as coordinator of the Bukularrngay Arts Centre. He has subsequently held positions with the Perth-based Australian Regional Artists Exchange and Triangle International Artists Exchange, and was Curator of Aboriginal Art at the Art Gallery of Western Australia from 1984 to 1996. He acted as Australian Commissioner at the 1990 Venice Biennale, with the artists Trevor Nickolls and Rover Thomas. Ashley Crawford is the author of a number of books on Australian art including Spray: The Work of Howard Arkley (co-author, 1997) and Wimmera: The Work of Phillip Hunter (2002). He has written on the visual arts for numerous publications including The Age, Australian Art Collector, Art & Australia, the Australian, the Sydney Morning Herald, the Australian Financial Review and Business Review Weekly. Crawford has also been editor of Tension, World Art and 21.C magazines.
