Product Description About the Author Dr. John C. Brady, II is a California licensed forensic psychologist and criminologist with twenty-five years experience treating criminal clients. This is the fourth book in his Bad Actor Book Series. Dr. Brady has written extensively about why people turn to crime. His unique theory centers on the theory that some deviants become addicted to the thrills associated with crime. In a sense, he sees certain offenders as engaging in crime as a method to modify their mood states--a typical characteristic of an addicted person. Dr. Brady's forensic interests range from rich women including celebrities who steal to men who engage in multi-million dollar fraud. His next book addresses three white-collar offenders including John Spano who, in Dr. Brady's opinion, became addicted to theft when he fraudulently bought the New York Islanders hockey team. Spano, according to Dr. Brady's interpretation, had no clue why he committed fraud resulting in a federal prison term. Dr. Brady has an active forensic practice in San Jose, California where he is often called upon as an expert witness. One of his current interests is why some defendants confess to crimes they didn't commit-the false confession syndrome.
