She graduated from Boston University with a bachelors degree in art education and then relocated to the Seattle area. After earning an MFA from the University of Washington in, Skelly achieved an extensive national exhibition record for her original metalwork and enamels. An interest in the healing power of art and creative processes led her to a second master's degree in counseling and art therapy from Antioch University Seattle. Skelly worked in community mental health for before developing a private practice in Everett, WA. She continues to provide counseling and expressive arts therapy for individuals, couples, and families. As an artist, Skelly continues to produce and exhibit original artwork inspired by individuals with whom she lives and works in her daily life.
