Author Information

Douglas N Schilling was born and raised in the state of Iowa, in America's Heartland. He attended the American Institute of Business and later served as a Hospital Corpsman in the United States Navy. He has lived with his partner for the past 21 years (a man to whom he donated a kidney in 2011) and he is an advocate for equality in the workplace. Doug has always loved writing and entertaining and in 2015 he decided to combine the interests to write the first book in a series called An Old Gay Couples Guide to Entertaining. The book shares Doug's love of food, people and the diversity which makes us all unique and is an engaging and fun read. When he isn't writing great books, Doug's passion is for music. He has performed in musicals such as the Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado and Godspell, and he enjoys relaxing by playing guitar. He also loves to travel and has a fondness for antiques and artwork, spending hours browsing the shops and galleries for his next purchase. As an advocate for equality in all walks of life Doug's hopes for the future are that someday no-one will ever be treated badly for who they are.
