Travelers: Poems

Overview

""Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness,"" said Mark Twain, one of Curt Curtin's favorite writers. In this far-reaching collection, Curtin explores places and people from various encounters throughout his own life's journey. He reflects on life-changing experiences such as trips to West Africa, Scotland, and Oxford, England, observes human interactions and struggles for power and dominance, and anticipates the challenges of aging, vision and memory loss, and end-of-life. From lost baggage in Africa to donating his body to a medical school, Curtin documents his travels and his personal search for meaning with humor, sensitivity, and awe.
