He is an affiliated researcher with the Prairie Metropolis Centre of Excellence for Research on Immigration, Integration, and Diversity (MPC). His research interests include citizenship and immigration, lifelong learning, social justice and equity in education, and comparative and international education. His recent works have appeared in the Journal of International Migration and Integration, Canadian Journal for the Study of Adult Education, Canadian Journal of Higher Education, Convergence, and Frontiers of Education in China. He was the co-president of the Canadian Association for the Study of Adult Education (2009-2011) and is currently an executive member of the Canadian Ethnic Studies Association.
