OverviewFirst published in 1999. Family homelessness is one of the most profound and disturbing social problems of the 1990's and will be one of the most important issues facing the United States in the twenty-first century. The main purpose of this study was to develop a transitional program framework that can assist homeless women with children to become self-sufficient. In order to create this framework; this study identified current program areas and components in transitional programs for homeless women with children, including education and employment training components; and determined which program areas and components of current programs have a relationship to programs with successful outcomes.
