His early expertise was to develop design methods for database and information systems in consultation with Government and Industry. This was followed by the design of collaborative systems in community environments, and ways to support creative teams. He has close to three hundred research publications and six books, one in second and another in their fifth editions, in this area. Currently his research is on encouraging creativity in organizations based on design thinking and its use in multidisciplinary collaboration in teams working in complex environments.
