In this book on the Apocalypse of John and 2 Baruch, John Dik presents for the first time a detailed comparison of the history of motifs and genre criticism, which emphasises both the Jewish traditional-historical contexts for the last book of the New Testament and the relevance of the Apocalypse of John for other Jewish apocalypses.

John Dik, Ph.D. (2024) studierte Anglistik, Geschichte und evangelische Religionslehre mit den Schwerpunkten Antikes Judentum und Frühes Christentum an der Universität Münster und an der Hebräischen Universität (Jerusalem). In seiner Forschung beschäftigt er sich vor allem mit apokalyptischer Literatur des antiken Judentums und frühen Christentums, Flavius Josephus, den Schriften des Neuen Testaments und jüdisch-christlichen Beziehungen von der Antike bis zur Gegenwart.  John Dik, Ph.D. (2024), University of Münster, studied English Literature, History, and Religion, focusing on Ancient Judaism and Early Christianity. His main areas of research are apocalyptic literature in Ancient Judaism and Early Christianity, Flavius Josephus, the New Testament Writings, and Jewish-Christian Relations.
