Reviews

'This beautiful collection of poems takes us on a journey through the chasms and peaks of Sue's battle with depression. While the verses stem from her darkest days, their overall feeling is one of hope and transcendence, as Sue finds solace in the arms of Mother Nature, as she rediscovers the joy of living and finds the courage and inner wisdom to find a way out of the darkness. In sharing her experience, Sue reveals a world in which we can see hope beyond despair, love beyond loss, and happiness beyond depression. After all, it is only in experiencing darkness that we can truly know light.' Samille Mitchell, Founder/Editor in Chief, INSPIRED Magazine

Author Information

Sue Tredget grew up in Northern Ireland and now lives in Western Australia. She began writing during a year off from her job as a language teacher in 2014, after which she returned to teaching on a more flexible basis so that she could continue writing and pursue her other interests. These include travel, particularly to France, Italy and Spain, and working as a volunteer Speaker/Ambassador for the not-for-profit organisation beyondblue to raise awareness about mental health, increase community understanding and help break down stigma. Sue is also the author of Changing Lightbulbs, a non-fiction book about her experiences and the children's picture book series, My Colour Collection. She enjoys writing reflective articles which she posts on her website www.suetredget.com, drawing inspiration from the beauty of the natural world, her daily observations of the little things in life, and her travels.
