OverviewThe booklets were edited by Andy Milroy and featured articles from experienced elite performers. The booklets proved popular selling thousands of copies before going out of print. Since then there have been several books published which deal with some aspects of ultra running, but none that deal with the whole range of the ultra scene. It was decided by the Road Runners Club to combine many of the articles from the various booklets and add new material in a new combined book. The advice varies enormously. No two runners are alike. Ultra training is dictated by many factors - temperament, ability, height/weight, resilience, time available, environment and experience. Runners should extract from the articles those elements they think they can use.
