OverviewTraining Circular TC 3-21.50 Small Unit Training in Subterranean Environments November 2017 Commanders, staffs, and subordinate leaders ensure their decisions and actions and those of their Soldiers follow United States, international, and, in some cases, host nation laws and regulations; the law of war; and the current rules of engagement. (Refer to Field Manual [FM] 27-10 for more information). Additionally, commanders and subordinate leaders ensure that all members of the Army profession live by, adhere to, and uphold the moral principles of the Army Ethic. The training objective is for trusted Army professionals to accomplish their missions in the right way-ethically, effectively, and efficiently. Commanders and subordinate leaders, as moral exemplars and stewards of the Army profession, understand that their leadership facilitates the positive command climate, shared understanding, and mutual trust necessary to develop cohesive teams of trusted Army professionals. This training circular is published to provide urgently needed guidance to plan and execute training for units operating in subterranean environments. The materiel in this publication is based on suggestions, insights, and observations developed across the force by numerous organizations.
