Overview

Jate Goldmet was making a modest living as a photographer when his world changed. He had no idea how rare and special he was, but the Minoans of Prime Trace knew everything about him. Able to pass between separate dimensions of reality-or Traces-without dying instantly because his brain had burned out, Jate was the product of an unlikely mutation that occurred perhaps once in more than a hundred million individuals. Recruited by agents of the Infinity Compound, Jate is transported to Prime Trace where over his strenuous objections, he is enrolled in a crash course that will lead to him becoming a portal adept. He learns that he is to be an armed enforcer who will cross into other iterations of reality to recover things stolen by agents from other Traces. Making new friends and enemies-and even falling in love-Jate's experiences in new and strange worlds and an even stranger cultures will test every fiber of his mind and body and demand every ounce of his wit and intelligence. His survival will be left entirely to his new-found abilities as he deals with threats to his freedom and existence that are both real and omnipresent.
