This book views transition to sustainable urbanism as a new urban agenda for rapidly urbanizing Africa. In a sense, the book kick-starts the process of determining pathways to sustainable urbanism for Africa's rapidly urbanizing cities. In addition, book also succinctly seeks to inform the reader on the various perspectives concerning urbanism, the state of urbanism in Africa, the concept of sustainable urbanism as a new urban agenda for Africa's rapidly urbanizing cities and the possible ways for institutionalizing sustainable urbanism in Africa's rapidly urbanizing cities.The book's format as reflected in each part, is such that it will facilitate teaching and learning.
