Top 100 SA Wines 2012/13 is the second edition of the innovative, premium brand based around South Africa's finest wines. It repositions South Africa's top wines with clarity, vigour and integrity. Consumer-friendly and simple, we 'de-myth the bunk', yet keep the romance of fine wine flowing. The annual Top 100 SA Wine Challenge is the premier fine-wine judged competition, offering consumer festivals around South Africa. The accompanying Top 100 SA Guide provides an objective, independent and professional rating of South Africa's fine wines. Judging panels included only the highest quality experts; each panel including SA judges as well as international judges, with the Master of Wine title. This consumer guide maintains a current showcase of winning wines and vineyards.

Following a successful career in the highly competitive financial world in the United Kingdom, Robin von Holdt commenced on his path as a wine visionary. Fostering a passion for fine wines and cuisine, he relocated to the exciting emerging market of South Africa. An entrepreneur at heart, Von Holdt established the widely acclaimed Rodwell House 5* hotel (2006) on the shores of St James. The extensive, multiple award winning wine collection necessitated business to expand, and Weekend Wines (2007) was born as import and export merchant of fine wines. Von Holdt is an avid collector of fine art, which is on display at Rodwell House and now exports selected South African pieces to international clients. As his involvement in fine wines developed, his financial background compelled him to critically analyse the local industry. In 2010 he established TOP 100 SA WINES as the premium, annual judged wine competition and Consumer Guide for South Africa.
