"Sergey Balandin received his M.Sc. degrees in Computer Science from St. Petersburg Electro-Technical University ""LETI"" (Russia, 1999) and in Telecommunications from Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland, 2000). In 2003 graduated from PhD School of Nokia Research Center and got PhD degree in Telecommunications and Control Theory from St. Petersburg Electro Technical University ""LETI"". In 2012 Sergey got MBA degree in Finland. He is a founder and president of FRUCT Association and Adjunct Professor at the Tampere University of Technology. In 1999-2011 Sergey Balandin worked for Nokia Research Center, his last position was Principal Scientist of Ubiquities Architectures team. Sergey is IARIA Fellow, Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Embedded and Real-Time Communication Systems (IJERTCS), invited Professor at ITMO University, and author of over 100 papers and 29 international patents. He also holds expert position in various organizations and international programs, including, EURIPIDES², Skolkovo Foundation, Russian Academy of Science, National State Scientific Center of Kazakhstan, etc. He co-edited several books published in LNCS, IEEE Xplore and IGI. His current research interests include various aspects of Smart Spaces, network and services performance evaluation, and Internet of Things."
