A former editor for Random House and Golden Books, Lori Haskins Houran has written several books in the Step into Reading series. She lives in New York, New York with her two sons. Joe Mathieu is the illustrator of Too Many Dogs, as well as Big Mike's Police Car, Dogs Don't Wear Sneakers, Oh, the Pets You Can Get!, and many Sesame Street titles. He lives in Brooklyn, Connecticut.
