Author Information

Brian J. Ford is a renowned biologist who has published hundreds of scientific articles in journals including Nature, New Scientist, Scientific American and the British Medical Journal. He has written for The Times, the Daily Telegraph and the Guardian and has hosted programs including Science Now and Kaleidoscope for the BBC. He has frequently contributed to programs including Newsbeat and Newsnight and is a fellow of Cardiff University, former fellow of the Open University, a fellow (and former officer) of both the Linnean Society and of the Institute of Biology. He was awarded a fellowship by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) and was recently presented with honorary fellowship of the Royal Microscopical Society. He is a life fellow of Cambridge Philosophical Society and President Emeritus of the Cambridge Society for the Application of Research. His many books have appeared in over 130 editions around the world, and he is frequently invited to travel extensively overseas to lecture on his work and ideas.
