Author Information

"Karen Anne De Santis is an author and retired elementary school teacher from the Greater Essex County District School Board. She lives in Tecumseh, Ontario with her husband Ciro and Miniature Schnauzer named Luigi. She has two grown children, James and Anthony, who are characters in her stories. Karen was inspired to write this story after being involved in a ""Grandpal Program"" at school for over 15 years (a program where the students in her class would write letters to residents and then visit their facility on a monthly basis). ""There are so many elderly people in this world that need companionship. It doesn't matter how old the participants are. Let's all make a difference in the lives of others: one visit at a time. Intergenerational programs work."""
