Tony Gonzalez is one of the best tight ends in the history of the National Football League. He was not always a good football player, however. When Tony was 12 years old, he was one of the worst players on his youth team. Tony only made it onto the field for six plays in each game because the league's rules required all players to take part in that many snaps! But Tony worked hard to make himself a better player. After starring on the gridiron in high school and college, Tony entered the National Football League in 1997. Since then, he has impressed coaches, fans, and opponents with his leaping catches and hard hits. Tony has set many NFL and team records, and may one day be voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Tony is special off the field as well. He has been active with many charities, and has been praised for the good work he does in his community.
