OverviewHenry and his classmate visit an exhibit at the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley, California. In this Book, the museum visit reinforces the concept of valence electrons or hands and introduces the idea of Electricity that is associated with metals and valence electrons. Electricity is a property of the elements that, in general, can be classified as Metals (do remember the three groups Metals, Semi-Metals and Non-Metals introduced in Book 6?). In the metals group, when many atoms are together, their valence electrons are so loose that can move to an outer band called Conduction Band and move from atom to atom, generating an electrical current or current of electrons, as water running in a hose! In doing so, the flow of electrons is what we know as Electricity. Electricity is a flow of electrons (like the heat flux from the sun) that we call a current such that electrons freely flow through the metal under the influence of a force that we call a voltage. We call the metals electrical conductors.
