Reviews

Tom Brady is shown in a terrific light in this book, which also pays some attention to his charity work. The book opens with a brief summary of his perfect season, then moves on to discuss Brady's early years playing high school football. Readers will also learn that while at the University of Michigan, Brady was not the favored quarterback and that he was drafted in the 199th spot. Two more chapters sum up the unstoppable New England Patriot team that Tom Brady lead in 2003-2004 and detail the many football honors that were bestowed on Brady. Finally, one quick chapter lists his charitable giving to organizations like Best Buddies and One Laptop Per Child. The title would suggest that the main focus of this book would be the athlete's charity work, but that is not the case. Instead, the book focuses on the success of this star, and mentions in passing at the end that he is also charitable. A better balance could certainly be struck that would talk more about hard work and charitable work. This is not a bad book, but it does not quite live up to the title., Children's Literature
