Reviews

The 13 essays, which include contributions from some of the most recognized names in innovative Tolstoy scholarship, deliver on that premise in varied and captivating ways. Generally, the authors closely read one concrete textual component-certain works' use of or rhetoric around versification or music; [...] demonstrate how it communicates and, just as important, sometimes complicates the weighty Tolstoyan 'message.' The fresh approach abounds with illuminating insights. - B. J. Nieubuurt, University of Michigan, US in CHOICE connect, Vol. 59 2022
