Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationJanet Metzinger has lived and breathed her work as a financial planner for most of her life, beginning with her ""job"" as a pre-school child to write down the commodities prices as they were read over the radio, assisting her for her father, an Indiana grain farmer. She carried that early childhood work into her teens when she transferred prices from the ticker to the quote board in a broker's office. After graduation from college, she dallied briefly as a teacher and basketball coach, but the world of finances called her again. Since the early 1970s, Ms. Metzinger has owned her own business, first as Executive Planners in Indiana. In 2003, she moved her business to the small town of Brevard, in Western North Carolina. She has worked with clients all over the world, ranging from Fortune 500 CEOs and other high ranking executives to athletic directors and coaches at colleges and universities all over the country, with whom she has a special affinity after her brief career as a high school basketball coach. ""I never wanted to be the biggest, but I wanted to be the best,"" she says. Ms. Metzinger has two daughters, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
