Tobias Matthay's From My Sketchbook, Op. 24 contains the musical scores for five original compositions intended for solo piano. Tobias Augustus Matthay (1858 - 1945) was an English pianist, composer, and teacher. He was taught composition while at the Royal Academy of Music by Arthur Sullivan and Sir William Sterndale Bennett, and he was instructed in the piano by William Dorrell and Walter Macfarren. The compositions include: Vitality , May Morning , May Day , Solitude , Terpsichore . These beautiful and masterful piano compositions will appeal to those with an interest in classic pianoforte music, and they would make for fantastic additions to allied collections.
