OverviewMost tourists in Thailand clutch their Lonely Planet guides and follow a well-worn path: a quick stop in Bangkok, trekking outside of Chiang Mai, cocktails on the beach in Phuket. They see so little; they miss so much. To Thailand With Love tells where to eat cobra salad, where to find ghosts in Ayutthaya, where to spend an evening among fireflies, where to meet sea gypsies or hear the songs of gibbons, where to spend a day on a rice farm, where to learn to make paper from elephant dung. Add to this shopping tips, restaurant recommendations, secret sanctuaries provided by expats and frequent visitors--and an unforgettable trip is guaranteed. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationNabanita Dutt: A journalist by accident, Nabanita Dutt started her career with a news magazine in order to finance her obsession with clothes. The excitement of running a business desk, however, soon took the edge off her fascination with fashion, and she surprised both herself and her employers by displaying a talent for the job. She went on to edit the weekend feature magazine for one of India's largest-selling newspapers, and her career in journalism continued. Almost every month, she finds herself in a different country, and she uses these trips to explore ethnic cuisines and culture, while also writing travel features for publications in the UK and Asia. Marc Schultz: Marc Schultz is a Bangkok-based, fine-art travel photographer who is passionate about capturing scenes from behind the lens of customary Thai life. He has traveled extensively throughout Asia and Thailand, with cameras in hand, and he spent more than five years capturing the imagery in this book. Accredited as an official press photographer by the Thailand Ministry of Foreign Affairs, his exquisite images detail simple, everyday Thai life, its religious aspects, basic trades, and the rich culture and traditions of the people from both the old and the new Siam. In September 2002, Marc received recognition in the field of visual arts from England's prestigious Royal Photographic Society.
