It's a curated blend of story and evidence-based insight--a nurturing companion and guide for mamas and mamas-to-be. Keeping mothers' unique and varied needs in mind, Parker draws from her own personal and clinical experiences with pregnancy, providing practical support via candid memoirs and conversational heart-to-hearts. In each chapter, she weaves art with science and humor with reflection--preparing her readers to cultivate wholeness through pregnancy and beyond. Through four 'trimesters, ' weekly topics cover: mental health and body image, intimacy and relationships, common motherhood experiences and myths, perfectionism and mom guilt, health care rights and providers, relaxation and sleep, labor or Cesarean birth prep, connecting with and feeding your baby, support-person tips, returning to work or school, and so much more! This book is a winner of the Independent Press Award, Independent Publisher Book Awards, and is a finalist of the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. This book is a freedom partner. A portion of the book profits will go to support the work of International Justice Mission, a global non-profit committed to combat slavery and violence against women and children.
