He graduated from the University of Michigan School of Art and Design and has exhibited his paintings and drawings throughout the states of California and Michigan. Many topics, including culture and religion, influence Doehring's poetry. His current visual art focuses on the abstraction of the human figure and everyday objects exploring space, color and rhythm. Sarah Miller has been on faculty of diverse institutions ranging from juvenile detention centers to elite universities. She has taught art history, art appreciation and studio art including multimedia concept driven courses. Miller's art has appeared in both solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries including the Phillips Collection and the Corcoran Gallery of Art.
