What's more fun than toucan birds, guavas, and singing? Timmy Toucan Dropped 10 Guavas, a new pre-K and Kindergarten children's book from Richard Garrett Dews, helps young readers learn to count up to (and down from) 10. Kids pick up the catchy tune almost instantly, and the book's many happy lessons seem to happen without effort! Timmy Toucan, our jungle friend, and his pal Mike Monkey are frantically searching for 10 guavas that Timmy dropped. In addition to counting down Timmy's remaining guavas, readers count up the number of guavas found. Timmy and Mike, and the reader, search each illustration for one missing guava at a time. Ordinals are taught (1st, 2nd, etc), and so are directions (left, right, under, etc). Each illustration is a fun search for a missing guava! The sing-along song was created as a perfect compliment to the book, and sheet music is included on the book's last page. An MP3 instrumental version is available, from online music retailers, to lead and support young singers. It makes great background music (or a lullaby) when looped! Richard Garrett Dews continues to live the American Dream. This native Texan's first career in computers culminated in his founding, leadership and public offering of a software corporation (One Up). He retired, at age 32, on his ranch near Big Timber, Montana. Richard realized his childhood dream of becoming a pilot, as a commercial multi-engine instrument-rated pilot and a certified flight instructor. In Richard's second career (aviation), he founded a flight school (Angel Air) and went on to become an airline pilot and Director of Safety & Systems, with Big Sky Airlines. Richard's first children's book, Mike Monkey Has 5 Bananas, is a pre-K and Kindergarten counting book. Coloring book and Kindle eBook versions are also available. Richard also wrote and produced a sing-along companion song, by the same name, which is available now from online music stores. His second children's book, Timmy Toucan Dropped 10 Guavas, is now available. Its sing-along song, coloring book and Kindle eBook will be available at the end of summer 2012. Richard's third children's book, Jimmy Giraffe Loves to Laugh, is currently under development. It should be available in late 2012. Richard Garrett Dews is an avid world traveler, a constant entrepreneur, and a prolific and diverse published author. Richard is a proud husband of 25 years to Jane (a Kindergarten teacher), and a proud father of Wes and Alli.
